Allow me to introduce myself to some, and reintroduce to others. I am Cynthia Lombard, child of God, wife, mother, friend, mentor, college graduate, author, blogger, and inspirational speaker. Growing up, I wanted to be an actress, I loved performing in front of people whether it was, spelling words, my grandmother was calling out, or memorizing speeches for the Easter or Christmas program. I love all forms of art, drawing, painting or just admiring a fine piece of art. I like the beach, I like coffee and tea equally, I love listening to music, and outdoor concerts. I love to eat good food, I’m not a fast food kinda girl, I prefer red wine over white, I love flowers and I love spending time with friends. I am a good friend because, I’m fair and loyal. I will always have your back, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I love hard. When I give, I give from my heart and I get joy from seeing others smile. I know that sounds like I’m pretty close to perfect (ha-ha) however, I am far from perfect. I have issues just like the next person I just choose to focus on the positive.
The reason it’s important to know who you are, what you like, and whose you are is, because other people tend to want you to be who, they want you to be and what, they want you to be, and it has nothing to do with who God called you to be. God made each of us in a unique way, there are no two people exactly the same. When God made me he threw away the key, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. God gifted us all with certain gifts and talents to be used for his glory. Never let anyone say there’s something wrong with the way you are, and never wish you were a different person. Instead trust Gods timing and his process, know there is a purpose in everything, to be revealed in due time.
One way to understand who you are, is to understand where you come from, the city you were born, and the climate you were born into. That means, what was going on politically and socially, when you were born, and where you are naturally comfortable. All these things are important in helping you becoming who God created you to be because, we naturally gravitate towards our purpose. God intended us to be born in a specific time and space for a specific purpose, one that no one else can do, we are uniquely designed to do a certain thing. Which is why we naturally gravitate to what we were made to accomplish.
As a young child I always wanted to be an actress, while my friends would say, they wanted to be nurses, secretaries, and school teachers. I wanted to be on the big screen or on stage performing in some way. I was never afraid to speak in front of crowds and I preferred to speak in front of strangers. I always thought it was odd that I never wanted to have a traditional profession. However, it became clear when I understood how God puts things in motion. God told me a long time ago that everyone is going to know my name, at the time it made no sense, when I discovered my purpose it all made sense. My purpose is to help others who have been through tough challenges in life, and need to know God can bring them through, also let someone know their past does not define them, they can move past the situation. I am doing this by writing books, blogging, speaking engagements and mentoring young girls.
Everything that has happened in my life, every struggle, every tear I cried, all the pain and suffering I endured, has led me to where I am in life today. I was born Los Angeles, where stars are born, close to Hollywood, lights, camera, action, the big screen, exactly what I gravitated to as a child. Everyone knowing my name, well, I am an author with my name on the book cover. I am a speaker, blogger I also mentor girls in a nonprofit Ebony and Pink Pearls. I also believe my book will be a movie one day. Figure out who you are, and be proud of the masterpiece that God created you to be because, in the words of my pastor, by way of big mama. “If you don’t know who you are you gone act like who you ain’t”
Be Encouraged!
