I know everyone has been told words are powerful, and that we should think before we speak because, we never know what kind of impact our words will have on someone. Sometimes we will hear later how we hurt someone with our words, then we need to ask for forgiveness, or we’ve helped someone with or words. I like to hear how I’ve helped someone with my words, and a couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to find out that I said something to two different ladies on two different occasions that left a lasting impact on their life in a positive way. The funny thing is, when I said it, I didn’t think it was a big deal I just knew that it was the right thing to say at the time. What I mean by that is while I was listening to each lady I assessed what was said and I knew what they needed.
The reason this information blessed me was because I’ve always been someone who likes to talk, and sometimes I was told I talked too much. On the other hand, I’ve been told I’m a good listener. Later in life I learned that those where two talents not everyone possessed and in fact, were a gift from God. So when someone tells me that I helped them just by listening or that something I said helped them, I am reminded of the gifts God chose to give me because he trusted I would use them to glorify him. It’s also confirmation that our words have power, God says in his word life and death are in the power of the tongue.
Both ladies I spoke with had decisions to make and based on what I told them they made a decision that worked out for the best. My joy comes from knowing I’m being used by God, the words I spoke to them were not my words but the words God gave me to say at the right time. We are all vessels that God uses to get his work done. If we allow God to use us we know that the words we speak will be used for good and not evil. When we speak to one another we are to use our tongue to uplift and encourage one another not tear each other down because, either way our words have a lasting effect, a blessing or a curse. When someone has something to say listen, sometimes people are hurting and if we are listening, I mean really listening we will hear the pain and know how to pray for that person or know the right words to encourage them or perhaps help them make a decision to move toward God or against him.
Sometimes, we may be someone’s first experience with God, so we need to always speak life and love with our tongue. I would like to encourage you while you are on your job, or at the grocery store, in your car or even at home making phone calls that you let the light of God shine through you brightly. Don’t let the cares of this world turn you bitter, ungrateful and resentful because God is still God no matter whats going on in our life. Believe me when I say, things could always be worse, and if you practice complaining things will get worse. When we are thankful for what we have God blesses us with more so we can be a blessing to others, even if all we are doing is listening, talking or smiling.
Be Encouraged!

Peace & Blessings My Dear Sister Cyn💖!!!
I’m sooo Thankful to the Lord for allowing me the Privilege & Honor to be introduced to your work through Memoirs Of A Woman! This particular article reminds me soooo much if myself😊!! The Lord has Blessed me with the Gift of Encouraging Others through being a good listener & talker/speaker..THANK YOU LORD!! I like you have been told “I sometimes talk too much” but instead of being offended by that statement I had to realize there is a BIG difference between talking too much & talking alot. When a person talks too much they tell EVERY thing they’ve been told, that they know..things that are supposed to be “kept just between them” they talk about it to others & that I DON’T DO! A person that talks a lot is someone that “thinks before they speak” & REALLY does have something worth talking about & DOES inspire to lift up & not tear down..now that IS WHO I AM & WHAT I DO & YOU ALSO😊!! I LOVE to see the BEST be brought out if people..I get joy from seeing someone who came to me, down, upset, angry & maybe even crying leave with a smile, a better & clearer head and or Spirit..THAT GIVES ME JOY😄!!! And the Lord said it & IT IS THE TRUTH..THERE IS POWER IN OUR WORDS & LIFE & DEATH IS IN THE POWER OF OUR TONGUE!! NOW THAT IS POWERFUL!! Lord, I Thank You for allowing me to SPEAK LIFE & giving me the opportunity to tell EVERYONE I know & meet about YOUR GOODNESS, GRACE & MERCY!! THANK YOU LORD..THANK YOU..THANK YOU..THANK YOU!! And I Thank You for Cyn & her blog..which is a DEFINITE inspiration & encouragement!!
Be Blessed, Stay Humble & Encouraged My Sister🙏💐💝
And Again…THANK YOU
